About the Role
Parsons is hiring a Senior Bridge / Structural Engineer in Qatar to support major infrastructure work. The position focuses on designing and reviewing a broad mix of structural assets, such as bridges, tunnels, underpasses, retaining walls, car parks, and public-infrastructure buildings and structures. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to produce coordinated, high-quality structural solutions.
What You Will Do
- Carry out detailed structural design for bridges, tunnels, underpasses, retaining walls, car parks, and related public infrastructure buildings and structures.
- Prepare design drawings, calculation documentation, and technical specifications.
- Guide and supervise other engineers and CAD team members according to project needs.
- Review team outputs as a checker to help ensure deliverables are accurate before submission to clients.
- Coordinate with other technical disciplines so designs are functional, serviceable, buildable, and free from clashes.
- Monitor progress on assigned design work and share updates and issues with the Design Manager and Project Managers.
- Assist the Lead Engineer with other engineering tasks when needed.
- Take on additional duties that fit the scope of the position.
- Work independently with only limited supervision on assigned tasks.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience, including practical bridge and related-structure design work.
- Strong working knowledge of structural and bridge design tools, including Midas Civil, CSi Bridge, SAP2000, Structural Bridge Design (Autodesk), AutoCAD, Bentley RAM, and Prokon.
- Solid understanding of applicable design codes and standards, including client structural guidelines, Interim Advice Notes such as IAN 009, British Standards, Eurocode, and AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.
- Business-level English skills, with the ability to write clear technical reports and communicate effectively in discussions.
- UPDA (MME) registration in Qatar, or the ability and eligibility to secure it within 6 months of joining.
Preferred Background
- A master’s degree in Structural Engineering is strongly preferred.
- Internationally recognized credentials such as PE, SE, or CEng are highly desirable.
- Experience with Revit or other BIM tools for structural coordination is an advantage.
- Native-level English speaking and writing ability is preferred.
