Role Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Full-Stack Software Engineer who will build and deploy features across both front-end and back-end systems. This role entails full ownership of integrations and backend services critical to our business operations. It is an execution-centered position ideal for developers who enjoy direct accountability and producing tangible results. The position reports to the Head of Engineering and offers rapid growth opportunities within our compact, high-impact team. The role is remote with a preference for candidates near Austin, TX, and requires occasional travel for company events.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and release features end-to-end on a TypeScript/React front-end and a TypeScript/Python back-end.
Maintain and enhance integrations and backend services such as LoanPro, HubSpot, and internal APIs, becoming the primary owner for at least one service.
Develop testing frameworks, monitoring, and instrumentation to improve system reliability and proactively detect issues.
Analyze and address production problems, reducing error recurrence over time.
Engage actively in code reviews, architectural discussions, and sprint planning within a Slack-first environment.
Utilize AI-driven coding tools and automation to accelerate development and lessen repetitive tasks.

Qualifications

Minimum of 4 years of professional software development experience with production deployments.
Expertise as a full-stack engineer with a backend emphasis, skilled in TypeScript/React and Python.
Proven track record owning services, APIs, or integrations end-to-end.
Strong discipline in testing, monitoring, and maintaining high reliability.
Experience in early startup environments (seed to Series B) is highly valued.
Practical experience working with large language models (LLMs) or AI tools is an advantage.
Ability to succeed in a fast-evolving, high-growth company where priorities and processes may shift.
Preferably at least one year of remote or distributed team experience.
Self-motivated, accountable, and able to thrive in undefined or rapidly changing conditions.

Success Indicators

Deliver your first production update within the first week and independently ship features within 90 days.
Take full accountability for at least one backend service or integration.
Maintain areas of responsibility with excellent testing coverage, monitoring, and minimal operational incidents.
Incorporate AI technologies into development workflows to optimize efficiency and reduce manual effort.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a base salary range from $130,000 to $160,000, with total on-target earnings between $143,000 and $182,000 depending on experience. Employees also receive equity stock options, comprehensive healthcare coverage, a 401(k) plan with company matching, and other leading benefits.
