Stock Controller

Role Overview

This position is responsible for keeping inventory organized, accurate, and easy to move across the stockroom and sales floor. The role supports smooth merchandise flow, reduces stock handling issues, and assists the sales team by ensuring products are available when needed. The Stock Controller will manage stock activities across multiple stores or locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all stock transfers from warehouse to store, store to warehouse, and between stores, ensuring every movement is properly recorded and updated to minimize mismatches.
• Handle warehouse audits, including stock counts, discrepancy checks, and the follow-up process required to resolve variances.
• Track and share updates on deliveries, current stock levels, pending purchase orders, damaged or short-shipped merchandise claims, and replenishment progress.
• Make sure defective inventory is adjusted correctly in line with company procedures.
• Build the annual stock count schedule with the Operations Manager and Store Manager, share the plan with all relevant teams, and arrange the manpower and resources needed to complete physical stock takes.
• Supervise physical inventory counts and ensure compliance with internal policies and operational procedures.
• Analyze stock count outcomes with the Local Retail & Wholesale Operations Specialist or Finance Manager and reconcile records by monitoring movements and transfers across stores.
• Compile reports from stock findings, share recommendations with the Local Retail & Wholesale Operations Specialist, and support the execution of stock-loss action plans created from retail stock counts.
• Coordinate outgoing shipments, working with EZ in Italy and the logistics provider to ensure merchandise reaches stores on time.
• Support, train, evaluate, and motivate team members to help them perform effectively and reach their potential, where applicable.

Education and Experience

Candidates should have a high school qualification or a Commerce degree. The role calls for 2 to 4 years of experience in luxury retail.

Skills and Knowledge

The ideal candidate should be comfortable using Oracle or a comparable inventory management system, be well organized, follow through reliably on instructions, and understand the commercial side of retail operations.
