Storekeeper

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Storekeeper to oversee and manage store operations at our construction site based in Patiala, Punjab. This role involves efficiently handling material receipt, storage, issuance, and inventory control to ensure the smooth progress of our construction project.

Primary Responsibilities

• Keep detailed records of all materials received and issued from the site store.
• Inspect and store materials upon arrival, adhering to relevant standards.
• Distribute materials to site teams according to approved requisitions.
• Maintain up-to-date stock registers, bin cards, and make entries in ERP systems.
• Perform regular stock verification and conduct inventory audits to maintain accuracy.
• Work closely with the Purchase department and Site Engineers to plan material requirements.
• Ensure materials are properly stacked, stored safely, and the store is well maintained and clean.
• Monitor minimum stock levels and raise indents in a timely manner to avoid shortages.
• Maintain all necessary documentation including Goods Receipt Notes (GRN), delivery challans, and invoices.
• Prevent material loss, damage, or theft through vigilant store management.

Qualifications and Experience

• Graduate or Diploma holder preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience managing stores in a construction or infrastructure environment.

Skills and Competencies

• Good knowledge of construction materials such as cement and steel.
• Basic knowledge of inventory management principles.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems preferred.
• Strong communication and coordination abilities.
• Attention to detail, sense of responsibility, and discipline.
• Ability to thrive in a site environment with excellent organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with building, infrastructure, or construction projects.
• Availability to join immediately or within a short notice period.
