Support Coordinator

Role overview

Home Group is hiring a Support Coordinator to work from Roskear House in Camborne, supporting people with complex needs in a residential setting and through outreach across the old Penwith area. This is a permanent role with the option of full-time hours (37.5 per week) or part-time hours (22.5 or 30 per week). The pay is up to £28,300 per year, equivalent to £14.47 per hour, and the package also includes a health cash plan valued at more than £1,140.

What the job involves

You will support people to live more independently while helping them manage complex and changing needs. The work is varied and may involve progress towards personal goals one day and day-to-day wellbeing support the next.

• Take the lead on support planning and help guide Support Workers so person-centred support is delivered well.
• Work with customers who may be facing mental health challenges, substance misuse, self-neglect and trauma-related issues.
• Encourage independence through help with daily living, budgeting, tenancy sustainment and overall wellbeing.
• Support customers into education, training, employment and community activities.
• Work alongside partner organisations to help keep customers safe and improve outcomes.
• Manage your caseload while balancing safeguarding duties, customer support and support for colleagues.

What the employer is looking for

Home Group is seeking someone who has a real commitment to supporting others, ideally in a supported housing environment. You should either already hold a Level 3 Diploma in Care or have equivalent experience, or be prepared to work towards the qualification.

The role also calls for experience in assessing referrals and coordinating support, plus the confidence to work on your own initiative, stay composed under pressure and show resilience.

Working pattern and practical details

Shifts are 7.5 hours long and run between 8:00am and 6:00pm on a rota. Occasional weekend work may be needed. Some days will be spent at the Camborne Roskear office, while other days will involve visiting outreach customers in the old Penwith area.

Although the role includes some lone working, the team meets regularly for training and team meetings. An enhanced DBS check with barring list is required, and the employer will pay for it. You will also need a vehicle insured for business use and a valid driving licence; business mileage will be reimbursed.
