Role overview
Tesla is growing its Residential Energy Support team to help customers get the most value from its residential energy products. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for users, helping them resolve account, billing, contract, and technical issues while supporting the company’s mission to accelerate the shift to sustainable energy.
The position calls for a strong communicator who can combine customer service with technical problem-solving. You’ll use diagnostic tools, review system data, and work with internal partners to identify the right path to resolution and provide fast, accurate support.
Key responsibilities
- Handle technical support requests over phone, chat, and email while meeting team productivity and quality standards.
- Keep current on product knowledge, support procedures, and troubleshooting workflows as tools and features evolve.
- Work alongside service, field, and technical teams when additional help is required, and surface recurring issues or trends for process improvement.
- Explain technical matters clearly in both written and spoken communication, turning complex information into practical next steps for customers.
- Record every interaction thoroughly, including actions taken and relevant diagnostic details, and escalate cases with clear problem statements when needed.
- Investigate energy product issues using logs, app information, single-line diagrams, and monitoring tools to determine the correct resolution.
Requirements
- Background in supporting hardware, software, or connected devices within a technical support setting.
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, higher-volume periods, and schedules that may include weekends or holidays.
- Strong technical curiosity and willingness to keep learning about new energy products, updates, and support processes.
- Careful attention to detail when troubleshooting, documenting cases, and escalating issues through case management systems.
- Customer-first mindset with ownership and accountability for resolving issues end to end.
- Excellent analytical troubleshooting ability, along with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic understanding of electrical concepts, home networking, and mobile app use for managing devices and systems.
