Water Process Engineer

The Opportunity

Join Stantec's rapidly expanding Ireland team as a Process Engineer, contributing to impactful infrastructure and environmental projects nationwide. Collaborate within a multidisciplinary group alongside civil, mechanical, electrical, and environmental experts to deliver integrated water-related solutions for both public and private sectors, focusing on sustainable water, wastewater, and environmental infrastructure.

Role Overview

In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of water treatment systems, performing process calculations, mass balance analyses, and evaluating system performance to devise reliable and efficient treatment solutions. Your responsibilities will include selecting appropriate treatment processes and equipment such as coagulation, filtration, membrane technologies, disinfection, and sludge management. You will oversee technical aspects through all project phases, including design, construction, and commissioning.

Working closely with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders, you will review contractor and vendor proposals and assist project managers by providing technical expertise on risk, budget, and scheduling while ensuring strict adherence to regulatory, safety, and quality standards.

About You

You are a motivated engineer with a solid technical foundation in water or wastewater treatment design and excel at solving complex problems and working collaboratively to deliver high-quality infrastructure. Excellent communication skills enable you to effectively engage with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.

Key Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Process Engineering, or a related field.
• Chartered Engineer status or actively pursuing chartership, or equivalent professional accreditation.
• Proven experience designing water and wastewater treatment infrastructure, preferably with projects for Uisce Éireann or other water utilities.
• Strong understanding of water engineering principles, standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
