About the Internship
This internship offers an opportunity to engage with bioinformatics projects remotely, focusing on web application development and database management using contemporary technologies. Selected interns will contribute to the bioinformatics galaxy framework, gaining experience with Python, MariaDB (MySQL), and PostgreSQL on Linux platforms. Additionally, interns will explore cloud infrastructure and support documentation efforts related to bioinformatics databases. Adaptability to the evolving landscape of large language models (LLMs) and proactive communication are essential attributes for success.
Primary Responsibilities
- Engage with the bioinformatics galaxy framework; prior experience advantageous but not mandatory.
- Design, develop, and debug web-based applications using Python and relevant SQL databases on Linux OS.
- Acquire basic understanding of cloud infrastructure components.
- Create and update technical documentation related to bioinformatics databases.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for leveraging LLMs to troubleshoot and problem-solve.
- Maintain consistent and transparent communication regarding project progress.
