Accountant

Position Overview

We are looking for a detail-focused Accountant to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate documentation and recording of costs and expenses, guaranteeing that revenues and expenditures reflect precisely in our financial statements. Compliance with applicable laws, company policies, circulars, approvals, and standard accounting principles is essential. The Accountant will also liaise with certified public accountants to communicate obligations dictated by local laws and monitor ongoing compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Consistently verify and monitor revenue data from sales management, ensuring all actions comply with local laws and regulations, and accurately reflect these revenues in accounting records.
• Provide detailed reports on office income, costs, financing, and financial statistics promptly to the Sales Manager or direct supervisor when requested.
• Manage timely bank deposits for all sales proceeds including Office, BSP, Cargo, CASS, and GSA and accurately record them.
• Process payments for approved expenses according to official approvals, maintaining precise accounting records in the company's financial interest. Also responsible for handling allowance disbursements as needed.
• Maintain and regularly update the annual cost budget sheet, monitoring expenses to ensure adherence to budget constraints. Prevent budget overruns by proactive control measures and notify supervisors immediately if limits are at risk of being exceeded.
• Handle administrative tasks related to finance and diligently follow up on outstanding financial matters.

Qualifications and Skills

• Degree or completed professional training in Accounting, Finance or equivalent vocational education (e.g., Ausbildung).
• Preferably at least two years of experience in financial accounting, including monthly closings and financial reporting.
• Strong understanding and practical knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures.
• Competency in MS Office applications.
• Fluency in both English and German is required.
• Valid work authorization or citizenship in Germany; the employer does not sponsor work permits.
• Demonstrated responsibility with the capacity for accurate and efficient decision-making, excellent organizational skills, and detailed data analysis ability.
• Experience with SAP accounting software is an advantage.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, while also managing tasks independently in a fast-moving environment.
• Strong proactive problem-solving skills.
