Applied Math Teacher

About the Role

The Summer Institute Inc. is looking to hire an enthusiastic Applied Math Teacher for grades 10 through 12 to join our summer enrichment program team based in Sevenig, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. This role focuses on fostering positive relationships with students while preparing them with essential skills for success through applied mathematical thinking. Emphasis is placed on critical thinking, financial literacy, and making data-driven decisions within real-world contexts.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver three sections of Applied Math instruction to students in grades 10–12.
• Guide and oversee three Independent Study sections by helping students set goals, maintain productivity, and take charge of their academic journey.
• Create and manage a final project that integrates math concepts into practical real-life problems.
• Teach students to effectively utilize educational materials, technology, and tools.
• Engage students with content that is both applicable and intellectually stimulating.
• Supervise student activities on campus as well as during field excursions.
• Assess academic performance and provide constructive feedback on coursework and projects.
• Work collaboratively with staff to provide comprehensive support to each student.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a corresponding discipline.
• Experience in teaching roles is required.
• Possession of teaching certification is preferred.
• Ability to present math concepts through tangible, real-world examples that captivate students.
