Job Overview
This position involves supporting the planning, execution, and maintenance of electrical systems ensuring projects meet quality, safety, and timing requirements while staying within budget. The role encompasses coordination with various stakeholders, compliance enforcement, and thorough documentation to facilitate successful project delivery and ongoing operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing Bills of Quantities, proposals, and budget estimates related to electrical projects.
- Support development of detailed electrical schematics, including single-line diagrams and wiring layouts, and prepare tender documentation.
- Document modifications to project specifications and scope changes comprehensively.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure adherence to ISO documentation standards for electrical components.
- Supervise on-site electrical work ensuring conformity with relevant codes (NEC, IEC) and statutory regulations.
- Coordinate and oversee installation and commissioning of electrical equipment such as switchgear, transformers, and power distribution systems.
- Inspect and monitor electrical systems for operational performance, reliability, and safety compliance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical technical challenges encountered during project implementation.
- Assist in planning and budgeting for annual electrical maintenance operations.
- Monitor and manage electrical maintenance activities to ensure their timely and safe execution.
- Conduct inspections and quality assurance on maintenance works including wiring, control systems, and lighting installations.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities following ISO procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to coordinate electrical project tasks.
- Engage in meetings for planning and scheduling electrical works to align stakeholder activities.
- Promote and enforce electrical safety standards through regular inspections and quality audits.
- Champion the adoption and daily use of digital tools, providing training and resolving technical issues.
- Monitor and report on the impact of digital initiatives on project performance to leadership.
Stakeholder Engagement
Internal collaboration with Central ERC team, TCD, Finance, Legal, PRMC departments.
External interaction with contractors, suppliers, regulatory bodies, community representatives (as applicable), environmental and design consultants, and local government agencies.
Educational and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech.) is mandatory.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant professional experience.
