About Egis and the Role
Egis is a prominent global consultancy and engineering firm specializing in transport, energy, and built environment projects. In the UK, Egis is involved in landmark projects ranging from motorways and tramways to nuclear plants and smart cities, focused on climate-responsible development.
One major project is the M25 motorway, a critical transport artery with over 200,000 vehicles daily, comprising around 800 structures and 5 tunnels. Egis, through its Connect Plus Services joint venture, is engaged in the operation, maintenance, and widening of the M25 under a 30-year contract until 2039.
Job Overview
The position targets a motivated individual with project management experience to help deliver lower-risk highways and technology initiatives or assist on more complex schemes. The projects cover the entire lifecycle from feasibility to handover and range from £100,000 to over £3 million in value. They include safety improvements, environmental projects, technology deployments, remedial works, and structural upgrades.
Responsibilities
- Foster collaborative relationships with project teams and stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of delivery goals, performance reporting, and resolution of project issues.
- Help enforce DBFO contract compliance, clarifying team roles, managing risks, producing accurate reports, and maintaining records including change management.
- Assist in designing and executing project plans, ensuring activities are organized and resourced to achieve objectives.
- Support projects throughout their lifecycle phases, influencing investment decisions.
- Help develop accurate cost profiles by identifying risks and resource needs.
- Recognize and appraise emerging risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints, escalating and proposing solutions when necessary.
- Oversee contractor and designer performance, ensuring they meet health, safety, schedule, and budget expectations, and address issues as they arise.
- Contribute to sustainability efforts such as net zero targets and biodiversity net gain.
- Coordinate with construction teams to manage permits, certifications, and site reports in line with project requirements.
Working Conditions
- Willingness to travel to different offices and depots as needed.
- Occasional site visits including night shifts.
- Full driving license preferred but not mandatory.
