Responsibilities

• Create and update purchase orders using Workday Procurement, ensuring all requests are properly reviewed, coded, documented, approved, and processed in a timely manner.
• Support procurement operations for India by collaborating with internal teams such as business stakeholders, suppliers, Finance, Legal, Tax, and Compliance to ensure purchases meet local and corporate procurement standards.
• Assist with international procurement activities beyond India when necessary, handling supplier setup, documentation, approval processes, currency handling, tax considerations, and cross-border purchasing compliance.
• Examine requisitions, supplier details, price quotes, statements of work, and related documentation to detect any discrepancies prior to purchase order creation or release.
• Track outstanding purchase orders, resolve any issues related to POs, and coordinate with Accounts Payable and business units on invoicing, receiving, change orders, and closing transactions.
• Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.
• Maintain precise procurement records and data entry within Workday to support audit readiness, adherence to policies, and visibility into procurement activities.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
• A minimum of one year of hands-on experience in procurement, purchasing, buying, or procurement operations is required.
• Proven experience using Workday Procurement, especially in creating and managing purchase orders, is essential.
• Familiarity with procurement operations specifically within India is necessary; experience managing international purchasing activities outside India is highly desirable.
• Deep practical knowledge of the Workday Procurement module, including requisition analysis, purchase order generation and upkeep, and approval workflows.
• Understanding of purchase order controls, invoice matching, supplier onboarding requirements, and handling change orders.
• Experience working with India-specific procurement standards, focusing on compliance, tax procedures, supplier documentation, and coordination among stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across Procurement, Finance, Legal, Accounts Payable, suppliers, and business teams.
• Excellent organizational skills with close attention to detail and the capacity to juggle multiple requests, priorities, and open purchase order issues.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and procurement tracking/reporting software to manage operations and reporting tasks.
