Role Overview

This role requires extensive expertise in Azure API Management (APIM) to design, secure, automate, and maintain APIs within a robust cloud environment based out of Chennai. The selected candidate will work onsite and contribute to API governance, security enforcement, automation via Infrastructure as Code, and full API lifecycle management.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement REST, GraphQL, and SOAP APIs using Azure APIM.
• Apply advanced security measures including OAuth 2.0, JWT, OpenID Connect, API keys, and mutual TLS to meet rigorous information security standards.
• Create and maintain Infrastructure as Code deployments utilizing Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates to streamline APIM provisioning and updates.
• Manage API lifecycle aspects such as versioning, revisions, caching, and throttling to optimize performance and scalability.
• Customize and support the APIM Developer Portal targeted at internal and external users, while mentoring junior development staff.
• Develop and sustain automated build and release pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub workflows to ensure continuous integration and deployment.
• Monitor API activity and performance by troubleshooting bottlenecks and analyzing analytics through Azure Monitor and Application Insights.

Mandatory Qualifications and Skills

• A minimum of 8 years in software development, backend engineering, or cloud service integration.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience managing and configuring Azure API Management in live production environments.
• Backend development proficiency with C#/.NET Core or Java (Spring Boot).
• Working knowledge of Azure Integration Services such as Logic Apps, Azure Functions, and Azure Service Bus.
• Comprehensive understanding of OpenAPI/Swagger documentation standards.
• Preferred certifications include Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
