Overview
Minor Hotels is a global hospitality group that owns, operates, and invests in a wide range of properties. Its portfolio spans more than 530 hotels and resorts across 50+ countries, including Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, the Indian Ocean, Europe, and South America, under brands such as Anantara, Avani, Elewana, Oaks, NH Hotels, NH Collection, nhow, and TIVOLI.
This position is based at Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara in Doha, Qatar. The Bell Captain leads bell desk activity, making sure luggage handling, guest support, and transport coordination are carried out smoothly and to a high standard. The role also involves guiding and developing the bell team to maintain excellent service quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day work of the bell desk and porter team.
- Manage luggage handling efficiently and courteously during guest arrivals, departures, and room moves.
- Greet guests, support them on arrival, and share information about hotel amenities and nearby attractions.
- Arrange guest transport such as taxis, airport transfers, and valet support where needed.
- Keep clear and accurate logs for luggage movement and guest service requests.
- Coach, roster, and monitor bell team members so service standards are consistently met.
- Ensure the team follows the required grooming, punctuality, and professional conduct standards.
- Resolve guest concerns promptly and escalate issues when a higher level of attention is required.
- Work closely with Front Desk, Concierge, Housekeeping, and Security to deliver seamless service.
- Protect guest property and maintain safety and security at all times.
Qualifications
Applicants should have a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification; a hospitality-related credential is an advantage. Prior experience of 2 to 3 years in a comparable hotel-based position is required. The role calls for strong leadership, team coordination, communication, and interpersonal skills, along with a service-first mindset and solid problem-solving ability. Familiarity with the local area and tourist attractions will be beneficial. Candidates must also be able to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
