Job Purpose

The Bell Person delivers exemplary service within the Front Office department, ensuring responsiveness, safety, and reliability. This role involves handling guest luggage by offloading on arrival and loading on departure, adhering to hotel policies and standards suited for a luxury environment. Collaboration with the Concierge and Front Office teams is key to ensuring punctual and professional transport services.

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage guest luggage by offloading and loading as needed.
• Maintain accurate luggage records when storing guest luggage.
• Supervise vehicle packing ensuring weight, balance, and safety protocols are adhered to while protecting transported items.
• Operate equipment, tools, and machinery responsibly and with care.
• Note specific transport requests from departments and respond swiftly to service calls.
• Keep vehicles and equipment clean, tidy, and well-maintained throughout service.
• Immediately report any accidents or damages involving vehicles or equipment.

Customer Focused Duties

• Respond promptly and professionally to all logistical support requests.
• Perform the ‘Rooming’ procedure with accuracy while escorting guests to their rooms.
• Ensure transport and logistics duties minimize disruption or inconvenience to guests and operations.
• Adhere strictly to traffic laws when driving within or outside hotel premises.
• Use discretion and proper forms of address when interacting with guests.
• Confirm task completion with relevant departments, including Head Concierge and Concierge Supervisor.
• Maintain courteous and polished interactions with guests at all times.

Qualifications and Experience

• Completion of Grade 12 education.
• Valid driver's license.
• Fluent communication skills in English.
• Minimum two years’ experience in a comparable or customer-oriented position.
• Proficient in operating various passenger vehicles.
• Capable of delivering logistics and transportation services in a formal, luxury setting.
• Committed to maintaining high standards through teamwork.
• Ability to perform effectively under pressure and handle demanding situations safely.
