About Wonderly
Wonderly is creating an end-to-end AI business platform designed for service-based companies. Many roofers, contractors, med spas, and law firms are highly skilled in their trade but struggle with the business side of operations, and the platform is built to help them generate materially more revenue.
At present, businesses often need to rely on agencies, multiple disconnected tools, and long setup and maintenance cycles. Even then, performance can be inconsistent and systems can break.
Wonderly brings together advertising, websites, lead capture, CRM, an AI receptionist, follow-up, and project delivery in one system that can be set up quickly. Because the platform controls each layer, it avoids the integration failures common in stitched-together workflows.
AI is built into the product itself rather than added on later. Its agents can run ads, create websites, answer calls, qualify prospects, book meetings, follow up, and move deals through the sales funnel. The aim is not a small improvement, but a rapid shift from a broken operating system to a high-performing one.
The company is backed by YC and Sam Altman, has reached a valuation above $500M, and serves hundreds of thousands of users. It is focused on building for the broad base of businesses in the economy, where AI must be reliable rather than highly customized.
Wonderly describes its environment as intense, fast-moving, and selective. It is intended for people who want to work with strong talent, push themselves hard, and help change how AI drives revenue for real businesses.
About the Hiring Manager
Bishop, Head of Customer Experience, is hiring early-career operators who can sell. The ideal person can speak confidently with a business owner, start the relationship well, guide the conversation, and move the opportunity ahead. This is the kind of role he would have wanted at age 22.
The Role
You will own the top of the funnel. The job centers on outbound outreach to service business owners through cold calls and follow-ups, getting them on the phone, presenting the Wonderly model, assessing fit, and passing qualified opportunities to the closing team, often live.
You will be the first person a future customer speaks with, and the pipeline will grow because of your work.
This is not a scripted sales position. The outbound motion is still early, so you will help shape the playbook rather than follow a finished one. If there are gaps in the process, you are expected to surface them and contribute to fixing them.
The role is highly hands-on and fast-paced. You will spend most of your time on the phone, take ownership of your results, maintain a clean pipeline and CRM, and use customer feedback to improve targeting and messaging. You are expected to think beyond dialing and help make the overall motion better.
You will also analyze your own performance data, identify what is and is not working, and contribute to the systems and processes needed to scale outbound volume dramatically without losing efficiency. Strong performers do more than hit targets; they help build the machine that makes targets easier for everyone else.
If you want a rigid script and a narrow scope, this role is not a fit. If you want real ownership, the chance to build outbound with the team, and the opportunity to become a stronger seller quickly, this role may be a good match.
What Makes This Role Different
Many early-career sales jobs are limited in scope: you follow a fixed script and master one motion. This role is different because you join early in the outbound engine of a fast-scaling company, which creates significant ownership, influence over the playbook, and visibility into how a company grows from early traction to scale.
Top performers can move quickly into senior sales, team lead, and operations roles.
Backgrounds That Tend to Work
Candidates who often do well in this role include:
- People with prior SDR or BDR experience, or phone sales experience where they were responsible for carrying a number
- Professionals with 2–6 years of experience at a top startup in sales, operations, or a generalist role
- Founders or operators who have run a business themselves, or people with real outbound or hustle-heavy experience
Backgrounds that matter less for this role include:
- Large-company functional roles focused on activity rather than outcomes
- Roles where the sales playbook stayed unchanged for more than a quarter
More important than the exact resume are the following traits:
- You stay sharp and composed on the phone
- You can hold a real conversation, work through objections, and quickly understand a prospect
- You are comfortable making decisions with incomplete information
- You are competitive and take ownership of your number
- When something breaks, you work to fix it instead of blaming the script
Expectations
- Workweeks of 60–70 hours during the growth phase; the team is currently operating from a hacker house in Las Vegas
- Full ownership of your pipeline and quota within your first 2 weeks
- High call volume in a phone-first environment
- The scope changes frequently, so this is not a stable or fixed job description
Compensation
- Total compensation of $70,000–$140,000, made up of base pay and on-target earnings
- Equity in Wonderly
- Remote work across North America and Canada, with regular in-person time at hacker houses
Equal Opportunity
Wonderly says it is committed to building a diverse, inclusive workplace where everyone is treated with respect and given equal opportunity. The company states that it does not discriminate on the basis of gender identity, race, ancestry, disability, religion, sexual orientation, pregnancy status, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic, and encourages all qualified candidates to apply.
