About the Role

Nalco Water, part of Ecolab, is seeking a Chemist to support the development of technical platforms by conducting laboratory experiments and analyses. This role involves handling both organic and inorganic substances to evaluate their applications and improve or replicate various materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform chemical analyses and experiments on organic and inorganic compounds to assess their functional uses.
• Conduct research to improve materials or develop new processing methods.
• Explore innovative applications for technical platforms.
• Collect and analyze data; compile technical reports and provide recommendations at project milestones.
• Support product development with technical evaluations and experiments.
• Maintain detailed laboratory notebooks and document experimental findings.
• Develop and select appropriate analytical methods and procedures.
• Contribute to the innovation of products, processes, or systems of significant business value.
• Ensure legal protection of proprietary project innovations, such as patents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry (degrees in Biology or Biochemistry may not align well with Nalco operations).
• Preferred experience of 3–5 years, ideally within chemical blending industries or third-party laboratory environments.
• Familiarity with analytical laboratory instruments and techniques including physical, spectrophotometric, quantitative, and qualitative analysis.
• Knowledge of chromatographic analysis is an advantage.
• Experience working under GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) is preferred.
