Civil Field Engineer

About The Role

JDS Energy & Mining is looking for a proactive Civil Field Engineer with 4 to 5 years of relevant experience to participate in field execution of active mining and construction initiatives. This position is site-based with camp accommodation and a fly-in fly-out schedule, offering direct involvement in heavy civil works essential for successful project completion. The role bridges the gap between design engineering and construction implementation, focusing on infrastructure development such as earthmoving, roads, foundations, drainage, and overall site preparation. Such positions are vital within mining and EPCM industry leaders for ensuring safe, high-quality, and efficient construction in remote locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the execution of civil construction tasks, including earthworks, grading, roadworks, drainage systems, and concrete-related activities
• Interpret and implement engineering drawings, technical specifications, and documents on site
• Manage survey layouts, control grading, and collect as-built data accurately
• Oversee contractor activities to confirm adherence to project, safety, and quality standards
• Monitor daily quantities, productivity rates, and progress to support reporting and cost management
• Keep detailed field records such as daily logs, inspection sheets, and progress reports
• Perform site inspections and actively participate in safety briefings, risk assessments, and incident reviews
• Collaborate closely with project, engineering, procurement, and construction teams for coordinated execution
• Identify field problems and contribute practical solutions to ensure constructability
• Support QA/QC measures including inspections, testing coordination, and verification of completed work
• Assist with material tracking, logistics, and short-range planning
• Comply fully with company policies, project specifications, and relevant regulations
