Communications Specialist - Cybersecurity

Overview

We are searching for a driven Communications Specialist with expertise in change management, content creation, and cybersecurity to support the rollout of security initiatives across the organization. The role focuses on producing strategic communication plans, engaging stakeholders, developing training materials, and managing change activities that enhance awareness, adoption, and comprehension of cybersecurity programs and tools.

Responsibilities and Role

• Translate complex cybersecurity and technical information into clear, engaging messaging for both technical and lay audiences.
• Collaborate extensively with cybersecurity teams, IT departments, business leaders, and other stakeholders to develop content and communications strategies.
• Create training materials and support change management efforts to facilitate security program adoption.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Business, Organizational Development, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in communications, change management, organizational readiness, or content development.
• At least 2 years of experience supporting cybersecurity, information security, risk management, or technology-related projects.
• Excellent skills in written communication, verbal presentations, and content creation.
• Proven ability to develop communications targeted at executive and business-level audiences.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and other collaboration tools.
• Strong project coordination capabilities and adeptness in managing stakeholders.

Benefits and Terms

This is a contract position offering a competitive hourly rate between $40 and $50 per hour on a W2 basis. The exact compensation depends on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and the geographic location. The role is remote-based within the United States, and candidates must be legally authorized to work without sponsorship.

Contractors are eligible to enroll in comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and life insurance coverage worth $20,000.
