Job Overview
We are looking for a Competitive Coder to contribute remotely on a contract basis. In this position, you will use your competitive programming expertise to support the training of next-generation AI systems. The work focuses on producing accurate, high-quality input that helps models learn, reason, and perform better. Prior experience in AI is not necessary; what matters most is strong domain knowledge.
What You Will Do
- Build and refine checkers for competitive programming tasks that allow more than one correct output, with a focus on reliability and precision.
- Review and verify participant solutions against advanced problem statements, including those inspired by platforms such as Codeforces.
- Work with the client team to clarify requirements and resolve cases that may be open to interpretation.
- Write efficient, readable C++ code to validate different outputs and handle edge cases effectively.
- Record the checker approach and explain tricky logic or special cases clearly in written and spoken communication.
- Share suggestions with problem setters and reviewers to improve tests and checker design.
- Keep up with developments in competitive programming and apply current best practices when creating checkers.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong background in competitive programming and analyzing coding problems.
- Advanced C++ skills for developing dependable checker logic.
- Ability to break down complex constraints and understand multiple valid solution paths.
- Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts clearly.
- High attention to detail when checking outputs and validating code behavior.
- Comfort working independently in a remote, collaborative setup.
- Discipline to deliver clean, well-documented code within tight timelines.
Preferred Background
Experience as a problem setter, tester, or checker on established competitive programming platforms is preferred.
Additional Information
This is a remote contract role based in Ireland. The position is intended to support AI model training through expert review and checker development.
