About The Bright Side

Role Overview
The Content Editor position is a part-time remote opportunity based anywhere within the United States, with potential for future expansion in hours and responsibilities. The role centers on managing content creation and refinement to align with The Bright Side's editorial mission, ensuring clarity, consistency, and quality. Primary duties include assigning articles, editing submissions, fact-checking, coordinating with contributors, and preparing posts for online publication. The editor will also support headline writing, content structuring, and enhancing web readability and engagement, in addition to helping plan editorial calendars and story ideas collaboratively.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in editorial and content management, adept at organizing workflows and maintaining publishing schedules.
- Skilled in writing and editing web content with the ability to adjust tone to fit publication standards.
- Strong research capabilities, including thorough fact-checking and verification of sources.
- Exceptional command of grammar, style, and narrative techniques with precise attention to accuracy.
- Familiarity with content management systems and digital publishing practices.
- Clear communication skills and capacity to provide constructive feedback to writers.
- Interest or knowledge of faith-based, hope-centered content and sensitivity to diverse viewpoints.
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
Position Details
- Part-time commitment: approximately 8 hours per week.
- Fully remote work location anywhere in the United States.
- Compensation ranges from $25 to $30 per hour.
