Role Overview

Based in Dublin, Ireland, this hybrid role involves three days on-site work and two days remote work. Reporting to the Principal Research Scientist, you will contribute to advancing biometric technologies focusing on face liveness, matching, and anti-fraud methods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop algorithms for identity document analysis and authentication, aiding digital onboarding and fraud prevention.
  • Create solutions to authenticate identity documents, detect tampering, and prevent document-related fraud.
  • Utilize foundation models, traditional machine learning, image processing, and computer vision suited to deployment environments to develop document processing algorithms.
  • Prototype novel concepts and evolve them into production-quality systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and support teams to integrate algorithms into production and oversee ongoing enhancements.
  • Develop components suitable for cloud, server, and mobile platforms.
  • Test and fine-tune identity document processing and analysis technologies.
  • Apply expertise in document validation, capture, computer vision, and image processing fields.

  • Proven experience creating and assessing advanced machine learning and computer vision algorithms.

  • Experience in low-resource environments, transfer learning, and unsupervised or lightly supervised learning methods.
  • Advanced Python skills for research and development; C++ knowledge is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with image processing libraries and toolkits.
  • Experience leveraging AI-powered tools to accelerate computer vision research and development.
  • Prior commercial experience with document capture and validation is a plus.
  • Skills in data curation, annotation, and generating synthetic training datasets.
