Overview
This role is essential in ensuring the deli section operates smoothly, delivering top-quality products and excellent customer service at all times.
Candidate Profile
- At least one year of supervisory experience specifically in fresh food environments.
- Minimum of two years in roles heavily involved with fresh food management.
- Comprehensive training and practical knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards with proven compliance experience.
- Hands-on expertise in ordering for deli operations and proficient waste management practices in fresh food departments.
- Well-versed in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
- Strong numerical aptitude.
- Competent in staff scheduling and managing departmental budgets effectively.
- Outstanding communication capabilities.
- A genuine enthusiasm for the food sector, combined with creativity and innovation in delivering fresh offerings.
- A customer-focused leadership style that fosters a devoted and high-quality client base.
- Ability to motivate, inspire and develop team members through supportive leadership.
Key Duties

- Oversee the presentation and arrangement of the deli counter to attract customers.
- Accurately implement planograms to maintain consistent displays.
- Minimize waste and product shrinkage within the department.
- Introduce innovative fresh food ideas by researching trends and benchmarking competitors.
- Showcase passion for quality food by sharing expertise, recipes, and recommendations with customers.
- Responsible for training all new deli employees.
- Handle customer inquiries professionally and in line with store policies.
- Actively participate in new initiatives and adapt to evolving work practices.
Additional Information
This position is based in Kingscourt, County Cavan. The role requires approximately 30 to 40 flexible hours per week. It is not suited for students due to the need for full availability throughout the workweek. Salary details will be provided upon application. The closing date for applications is 23rd July 2026.
