Position Overview

The Murrumbidgee Local Health District invites applications for a permanent full-time Dental Assistant position at the Albury Dental Clinic. This role involves supporting Dental Officers and Oral Health Therapists by providing clinical and administrative assistance to ensure safe and effective oral health care delivery. The position includes a standard workweek of 38 hours with a classification of Grade 1/2 Dental Assistant.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver proficient dental assistance to oral health clinicians following established standards and policies to maintain safe, competent, and high-quality care aligned with public expectations.
• Maintain a patient-centered approach to ensure exceptional service and care for all patients.
• Conduct various administrative tasks essential to the smooth operation of the dental clinic.

Candidate Profile

• Previous experience as a dental assistant with qualifications accredited by the Dental Assistant Education Council of Australia or an equivalent body; willingness to complete a Certificate III in Dental Assisting if needed.
• Proficiency in assisting with diverse oral health care procedures.
• Strong understanding and practical use of infection prevention and control protocols.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities facilitating effective interactions with patients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
• Capability to collaborate efficiently within multidisciplinary teams.
• Adaptability and readiness to travel for work commitments, including long-distance travel and overnight stays.
