About the Role and Organisation
The Queensland Government is seeking a Director of Strategy and Performance to join the Office of the Inspector-General of Emergency Management (IGEM) in Brisbane. This role will play a pivotal role in addressing the increasing challenges posed by disasters and other disruptions affecting Queensland. The Office of the IGEM is committed to inclusivity, innovation, and upholding a respectful workplace culture that values diversity and continuous development. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the formulation, execution, and delivery of strategic initiatives and organisational priorities that align with IGEM's statutory duties and objectives.
- Provide authoritative and independent strategic advice supported by thorough research, timely briefings, detailed submissions, and high-quality reports to inform executive and ministerial decision-making processes.
- Manage and continuously enhance governance, risk management, and evaluation frameworks to uphold organisational performance, accountability, compliance, and support ongoing improvement.
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships while representing the Inspector-General at high-level forums to drive policy development, sector reforms, and whole-of-government objectives.
- Advocate and negotiate on behalf of the Inspector-General in senior meetings, inter-agency forums, and committees to contribute to government initiatives and influence policy, strategy, and operational results.
- Foster a high-performing, ethical, and inclusive organisational culture by promoting leadership capabilities, supporting professional growth, and managing change initiatives in line with strategic goals.
Additional Information
