Overview
This opening is for a Door Person role at Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara in Doha, Qatar. The position sits within Minor Hotels, an international hospitality group with more than 530 properties across over 50 countries in Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, the Indian Ocean, Europe, and South America. The role is centered on creating a safe, polished, and welcoming first impression for residents, guests, and visitors entering the property.
What the role involves
- Receive residents, guests, and visitors warmly and professionally at the entrance.
- Assist with opening doors and helping with luggage, parcels, and deliveries when required.
- Watch entry and exit activity to support building security and access control.
- Keep records of visitors, deliveries, and service staff movements.
- Coordinate with concierge, security, or property management about resident requests or any unusual situations.
- Support guests by arranging taxis or ride services and sharing directions as needed.
- Answer simple questions and share information about building facilities and services.
- Keep the lobby and entrance area tidy, organized, and visually presentable.
- React promptly to emergencies or incidents and complete reporting according to procedure.
Requirements
- Secondary school education or an equivalent qualification.
- Previous exposure to customer service, hospitality, or security work is an advantage.
- Strong communication and people skills.
- A neat, professional look and courteous behavior.
- Ability to stay attentive, composed, and respectful in busy or stressful situations.
- Physically capable of standing for long periods and lifting light items when needed.
