Electrical Engineer

Position Summary

We are searching for a seasoned Electrical Engineer to join our team based in Madinat Zayed, Abu Dhabi. This role requires relocation and demands expertise in power distribution, Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) systems, regulatory compliance, and electrical design for extensive infrastructure projects. The role emphasizes adherence to Abu Dhabi electrical standards and airport authority regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Calculate and verify sizing of substations, transformers, and important electrical apparatus per project and regulatory criteria.
• Guarantee complete conformity with Abu Dhabi electrical legislation and the ADDC/AADC codes and ensure all submissions meet authority expectations.
• Develop, assess, and confirm Airfield Ground Lighting system designs, including CCRs, related lighting circuits, isolation transformers, and layout of airfield lighting installations.
• Perform and audit lighting intensity (lux) calculations for indoor, outdoor, and airfield illumination requirements.
• Review voltage drop computations and authenticate correct cable dimensions for diverse electrical distribution networks.
• Analyze and verify uninterruptible power supply (UPS) sizing, capacitor banks, and power factor correction needs.
• Prepare and examine Single Line Diagrams, Load Schedules, and other electrical schematic representations.
• Collaborate with consultants, contractors, airport authorities, and relevant regulatory organizations to resolve technical challenges.
• Identify inconsistencies or flaws in design documents and provide engineering resolutions.
• Engage actively in technical discussions, design evaluations, onsite inspections, and authority-led workshops.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• At least 15 years of relevant experience in electrical design focusing on power distribution and infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated expertise with Airfield Ground Lighting components including runway, taxiway, apron lighting, CCRs, and isolation transformers.
• Proficiency in substation and transformer sizing.
• Competency in lighting intensity assessments (lux calculations).
• Experience in voltage drop and cable sizing analysis.
• Knowledgeable in sizing and calculations related to UPS and capacitor banks.
• Skilled in development of Single Line Diagrams and load schedules.
• In-depth understanding of Abu Dhabi electrical codes, ADDC/AADC regulations, and airport authority requirements.
• Excellent problem solving, communication, and analytical capabilities.
• Capability to work autonomously and juggle multiple tasks effectively.
