Role Summary
The Electrical Technician is responsible for maintaining uninterrupted network operations through robust electrical wiring, power provisioning, and physical maintenance of field equipment. This role supports network uptime, safety compliance, and equipment troubleshooting in designated operational areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure continuous power supply and integrity of cabling to field network devices targeting 99.99% uptime.
- Conduct routine inspections, servicing, and maintenance of power distribution boxes, UPS systems, power adapters, and switching enclosures in line with company standards.
- Provide prompt electrical and cabling support for new node rollouts, cross-functional team needs, and emergency recovery operations.
- Address electrical and wiring complaints swiftly to achieve permanent solutions within prescribed timelines.
- Utilize test instruments such as multimeters, cable testers, and clamp meters for electrical fault isolation and troubleshooting.
- Coordinate with network management teams to respond to power failure alerts and node outages promptly.
- Analyze repeated power and cabling issues to diagnose root causes and apply preventive or escalated corrective actions.
- Strictly observe safety protocols, use appropriate personal protective equipment, and adhere to field safety norms.
- Follow established SOPs for cable jointing, grounding, power tapping, and routing procedures.
- Provide feedback and recommendations to improve electrical reliability and service quality in the field.
Eligibility and Education
Applicants should hold an ITI or Diploma in Electrical Trade, Wireman Certification, or equivalent technical qualifications.
Required Skills and Experience
- Valid Wireman or Electrician license.
- Basic telecom and networking infrastructure knowledge, including power backup systems such as UPS and inverters, and earthing systems.
- Between 0 to 5 years of practical field experience as an electrician or wireman within telecom, ISP, electrical utilities, or related service sectors.
- Strong hands-on expertise with electrical wiring, cable splicing, switch box connections, power troubleshooting, and safe handling of low to medium voltage field systems.
Compensation
The monthly salary for this position ranges from INR 18,000 to 28,000.
