Job Overview
Join Saint-Gobain Group as a Production Engineer based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. This role involves spearheading production planning and scheduling for On-Going Sales Management (OSM) transactions to ensure timely deliveries while maximizing resource efficiency in an electric vehicle (EV) gasket manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate production planning and scheduling for OSM transactions, guaranteeing punctual delivery and optimal utilization of resources.
- Oversee and manage in-house production planning activities at the EV manufacturing facility, aligning operations with customer demand and established production targets.
- Drive ongoing process enhancement initiatives aimed at improving productivity, quality standards, and cost-efficiency on the EV gasket production line.
- Manage workforce distribution, capacity planning, and the application of operational systems to bolster operational effectiveness.
- Lead process optimization projects using frameworks such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety protocols, and Kaizen methodologies.
- Handle inventory regulation and raw material procurement planning to maintain seamless production flow and maintain inventory at optimal levels.
- Track production metrics via Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and initiate corrective measures as necessary.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality Assurance, Procurement, Logistics, and Engineering to ensure smooth operational workflows.
- Ensure adherence to prescribed quality benchmarks and safety guidelines, alongside compliance with company policies.
- Support initiatives related to digital transformation and system implementation aimed at enhancing manufacturing excellence.
Requirements
- Experience in production planning and executing scheduling in a manufacturing setting, preferably in the EV segment.
- Expertise in continuous improvement techniques such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Kaizen.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management and capacity planning.
- Ability to monitor and analyze production KPIs and implement corrective actions.
- Good communication and coordination skills to work with multiple teams.
- Understanding of quality management systems and safety standards compliance.
- Familiarity with digitalization and manufacturing system implementations.
