Engineering Business Analyst

Job Overview

We are looking for a driven and technically skilled Engineering Business Analyst to work alongside our Engineering and GIS teams, focusing on the enhancement and optimization of our application systems. This role will act as a vital connection between business units and IT, shaping the strategy and roadmap for engineering and geospatial software usage. The role requires collaboration across departments to identify requirements, support new implementations, and improve system functionalities continuously.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Act as the main IT interface for Engineering and GIS application portfolios.
• Gather, document, and prioritize business and technical requirements for engineering solutions.
• Govern and streamline a range of engineering and GIS software applications.
• Analyze engineering processes and partner with IT to devise implementation plans.
• Facilitate integration efforts between engineering software, GIS platforms, and enterprise systems including ERP and project management tools.
• Oversee software license management, especially Autodesk Flex token contracts.
• Deliver training sessions and provide ongoing user support.
• Assist with testing, validation, and rollout of system enhancements and updates.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for system processes, modifications, and best practice guidelines.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure system efficiency and compliance.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• Experience with engineering and GIS technology stacks like Autodesk, Bentley, or ESRI.
• Understanding of portfolio management and IT governance frameworks.
• Knowledge of APIs, system interconnectivity, and data management.
• Familiar with Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall development methodologies.
• Strong analytical reasoning and problem-solving expertise.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Engineering, GIS, Business, or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of five years’ experience as a Business Analyst supporting technical or engineering functions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and documentation tools.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities effectively both independently and within a team.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this role is estimated at $85,000 to $110,000 annually, influenced by experience, education, skills, location, and internal equity.
