Role Overview
The firm is seeking an Equity Research Analyst to join their research team specializing in small and micro-cap companies, especially those involved in emerging technologies. The ideal candidate enjoys discovering undervalued or less visible investment opportunities well before they gain broad market attention.
Key Responsibilities
- Construct and maintain detailed financial models and valuations of covered companies.
- Develop, refine, and articulate strong investment theses supported by fundamental analysis.
- Conduct comprehensive industry and company-specific diligence, including assessing clinical and regulatory catalysts.
- Deliver timely, well-substantiated research notes to keep investors and internal teams informed.
- Collaborate with senior analysts and other firm resources in managing coverage of high-growth, early-stage public companies in the small and micro-cap segments.
Candidate Qualifications
- Possession of FINRA licenses: Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7, 86 & 87 is mandatory and non-negotiable.
- Strong proficiency in fundamental financial analysis and complex modeling techniques.
- A passionate interest in emerging technologies and companies with early-stage growth potential.
- The Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is beneficial but not a requirement.
Compensation & Employment Details
- Annual salary range between $200,000 and $250,000.
- Additional discretionary year-end cash bonus opportunities.
- Full-time, on-site employment based in New York, NY.
