Role Summary

This is a full-time, on-site Farm Worker position at The Sandbox Greenhouse in Oyarifa. The person in this role will support greenhouse and field operations by carrying out routine farm tasks and helping the team maintain productive, safe, and efficient workflows.

Key Duties

• Carry out everyday greenhouse and field work such as planting, watering, weeding, and harvesting.
• Look after livestock when required, including feeding and monitoring their condition.
• Use basic farm tools and equipment safely and help with routine upkeep.
• Observe plant condition and report or respond to any issues that may affect crop health.
• Keep work areas tidy, hygienic, and safe for farming activities.
• Assist with general farm tasks such as preparing grow beds and handling harvested produce.
• Follow the farm’s health, safety, and quality practices while working toward production targets.
• Work closely with other team members to support smooth and sustainable farm operations.

Qualifications and Experience

A degree in Agriculture or Biochemistry is considered an added advantage.

Applicants should ideally have some exposure to farm work or a genuine interest in agriculture, along with a basic understanding of crop production and daily farm routines.

Experience with harvesting and post-harvest handling is useful, especially where care, cleanliness, and product quality matter.

Knowledge of livestock care, including feeding, health checks, and maintaining clean living spaces, is also beneficial where relevant.

Prior greenhouse or farm experience is helpful, but candidates who are motivated and willing to learn on the job are welcome.

Working Conditions

This is a hands-on role that requires physical stamina and comfort with manual tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.

The job also requires reliability, punctuality, and the discipline to follow farm instructions, procedures, and hygiene standards carefully.

Good teamwork and clear communication are important, as the role involves working respectfully with colleagues from different backgrounds.
