Role overview
This position is focused on running and maintaining plant field operations in a safe, stable, and efficient manner. The role supports production continuity by monitoring equipment health, following site procedures, and helping ensure quality and safety standards are consistently met.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out daily site work in line with applicable policies, procedures, SOPs, and instructions so activities remain controlled and consistent through the shift.
- Stay updated on better practices and current trends, and help improve systems, workflows, and procedures over time.
- Check equipment condition using LLF (look, listen, and feel) methods, maintain equipment health, and report any performance concerns.
- Monitor field equipment according to SOPs, SOCs, and checklists, and maintain the condition of HSEF-related equipment along with the relevant check sheets.
- Assist the shift superintendent in monitoring process parameters and coordinate with maintenance teams to resolve CP-related issues promptly.
- Hand over and take over equipment from the maintenance team while following PTW/LOTO requirements and workplace safety systems.
- Collect field samples and deliver them to the laboratory for testing, and conduct gas checks such as LEL and O2 readings using portable instruments.
- Maintain shift logs with accurate operational records and manage inventories for logbooks, formats, spares, and consumables.
- Keep the workplace clean and orderly by handling hazardous materials carefully, separating waste correctly, reducing waste, and maintaining fire and safety equipment.
- Respond as a first responder during field emergencies and participate as a member of the Auxiliary Fire Squad.
- Understand rotary machine seal systems, including the importance of seal pot level and pressure.
- Understand compressor lubrication systems and the importance of temperature, pressure, flow, and related operating parameters.
- Know the status of LO/LC valves and the field location of different instruments.
- Support risk assessments during handovers, takeovers, and job execution, and conduct toolbox talks before work begins to reinforce safe practices.
- Execute process activities within safe operating limits to help prevent failures, incidents, accidents, and injuries.
- Record and report near-miss events so trends can be identified and future occurrences can be prevented.
- Follow current safety and management systems and guidelines, including IMS, ISO, TQM, OMS, PSM, QCC, and 5S practices.
- Comply with LOTO, nitrogen gas safety, line break, and related procedures.
- Handle any additional duties assigned by senior authorities as required.
Education
The role requires a Diploma in Chemical Engineering.
Experience
Applicants should have up to 3 years of experience as a field executive in site operations.

- Understanding of process safety incident tiers 1, 2, and 3.
- Ability to recognize and act on near misses, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions.
- Compliance with OMPro task completion requirements.
- Monitoring of operational or quality variance incidents.
- Awareness of OD violations.
- Tracking workplace incidents in the plant.
- Regular field rounds (ODR).
- Maintaining entries in the SD job register.
- Maintaining good plant housekeeping.
Safety and operational standards
The role requires strict adherence to site safety practices, including permit-to-work systems, lockout/tagout, nitrogen gas safety, line break controls, risk assessments, toolbox talks, and emergency response readiness.
