Position Overview

We are recruiting an experienced Financial Controller to join our finance team based in Albury, NSW. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer - Platforms, this role involves leading the financial function across designated investment platforms. You will be responsible for financial accounting, reporting, compliance, administration, and mentoring a small finance team.

This role offers a blend of technical accounting, business partnering, and leadership responsibilities, working closely with senior management to provide insightful financial analysis that influences strategic decisions, strengthens governance, and promotes continual operational improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage month-end and year-end financial reporting for assigned platforms.
• Develop budgets, forecasts, and prepare management reports to monitor business performance.
• Oversee daily finance operations across specified platforms.
• Handle cash flow management including banking relationships and debt facilities.
• Coordinate statutory reporting and external audit processes.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, taxation requirements, and internal control policies.
• Drive enhancements in finance systems and workflow processes.
• Lead, coach, and develop a small team within finance.
• Collaborate with operational leaders to deliver commercial financial guidance and insights.

Candidate Profile

• Qualified as CA or CPA with tertiary education in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.
• Proven financial control expertise in medium to large organizations.
• Comprehensive understanding of IFRS accounting and financial reporting standards.
• Experience with Xero or similar accounting software.
• Background in agricultural accounting is highly advantageous.
• Proficient in advanced Excel functions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Collaborative leadership approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Capacity to prioritize effectively and deliver high-quality outcomes within deadlines.
