Role Overview
The Fraud Data Lead will support the oversight, coordination, and assurance of data components within the Anti-Fraud Strategy, Technology Strategy, and program implementation. This role requires working closely with various departments across the bank to translate functional needs into technical solutions integrated within development plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate the deployment of the Anti-Fraud Strategy and its related initiatives focused on technology and data.
- Manage the execution of the Anti-Fraud Technology Strategy and suggest strategic modifications when necessary.
- Lead the application of the Anti-Fraud Framework/Program concerning technology and data, updating policies and procedures accordingly.
- Ensure compliance with Anti-Fraud policies, processes, procedures, and standards, escalating any necessary changes as the fraud landscape evolves.
- Support the budget management for Fraud Systems & Analytics, monitoring license costs, maintenance, and updates, while forecasting budget needs.
- Keep senior management informed on all developments related to Anti-Fraud data through regular and ad hoc reporting.
- Drive the development of databases, data points, scripting, and coding to support anti-fraud operations.
- Supervise analysts and interact with internal stakeholders and external vendors to manage fraud-related data initiatives.
- Develop data queries, conduct statistical analyses, and generate reports to detect emerging fraud trends and behavioral patterns.
- Lead efforts to analyze fraud risks, customer segments, and develop strategies to prevent fraud incidents.
- Utilize decision science tools such as decision tree models to predict fraud risks and forecast trends for business insight.
- Perform internal fraud investigations and ad hoc reviews by analyzing financial and security data.
- Maintain expert knowledge on current fraud threats by collaborating with risk, intelligence, and investigation teams.
- Ensure data unification and mapping for fraud-related datapoints and prepare comprehensive business requirement documents.
- Create and maintain management dashboards, key risk indicators (KRIs), and fraud risk appetite metrics.
- Collect and analyze data from various internal and external sources to optimize fraud detection rules and controls.
- Work alongside Cyber and AML teams to share fraud intelligence.
- Contribute to digital identity protection system development and fraud detection mechanisms.
- Generate fraud activity reports, conduct research on malicious activities, and support investigation units with analysis.
- Analyze suspicious transactions, consolidate data into actionable reports, and review transactional data for fraud tendencies.
- Employ critical thinking to discern patterns and inconsistencies in transactional data for the detection and mitigation of suspicious activities.
- Recommend controls and process improvements to enhance fraud prevention strategies.
- Engage in continuous improvement efforts following international best practices to optimize systems, reduce costs, and improve productivity.
- Prepare accurate and timely internal departmental reports and regulatory submissions.
- Manage staff performance, provide feedback, and foster career development, especially emphasizing the growth of Saudi national talents.
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and environmental policies within the department.
- Lead knowledge transfer activities and provide decision-making support and guidance to team members.
- Perform additional duties or assignments as needed.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Postgraduate qualifications in Computer Science, Business Intelligence, Big Data, Data Analytics, or Project Management are desirable.
- Between 6 to 8 years of relevant experience within banking, financial institutions, or consulting environments.
