Position Overview

We are currently hiring Security Guards to work at a Distribution Centre located in Leduc, Alberta. This role involves ensuring the safety and security of personnel and company assets around the clock. You will provide professional security services including screening, access control, patrols, and surveillance across multiple posts in a busy distribution facility.

Work Schedule & Compensation

  • Full-time employment.
  • Shifts: 2:00 AM to 10:00 AM and 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
  • Hourly wage: $19.73.
  • Two open positions available.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Verify credentials of employees, visitors, and contractors to control facility access.
  • Perform routine indoor and outdoor security patrols to detect hazards and unauthorized activities.
  • Operate CCTV systems and alarms to maintain site security.
  • Respond swiftly to emergencies, alarms, medical incidents, and security issues.
  • Maintain detailed daily logs, incident reports, and related documentation.
  • Uphold site security policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor loading docks, parking, and perimeter checkpoints to secure assets.
  • Offer courteous assistance to employees, visitors, and vendors.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, management, and emergency personnel during incidents.
  • Maintain a strong security presence to discourage theft, vandalism, and unauthorized entry.

Qualifications

  • Possession of a valid Alberta Security Guard License.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capacity to remain calm and make decisions during emergencies.
  • Experience with access control systems, CCTV monitoring, and reporting incidents.
  • Strong observation, problem-solving, and conflict de-escalation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Basic computer literacy for report preparation and operating security systems.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended times in various weather conditions.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and commitment to excellent customer service.
