Gen AI Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Gen AI Engineers to join HCLTech's team at our locations in Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Noida, and Pune. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Python and FastAPI, with at least 7 years of professional experience and the ability to join immediately.

Primary Responsibilities

• Create, deploy, and maintain backend APIs and services utilizing Python 3.12+ and FastAPI.
• Design and manage multi-agent generative AI workflows leveraging Google ADK 2.0 for orchestration and structured output management.
• Integrate and refine large language model providers and generative AI toolkits such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google to develop secure and efficient conversational AI applications.
• Support workflows through additional orchestration frameworks including LangGraph, LangChain, and PydanticAI to achieve interoperability.
• Develop and implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation techniques, prompt engineering, structured output validation, and AI safety guardrails to ensure reliable model operations.
• Create domain-specific handlers tailored to healthcare workflows, covering care tasks, medication management, scheduling, and interfacing with clinical systems when necessary.
• Utilize Azure cloud services—such as Cosmos DB, Key Vault, App Configuration, Event Hubs, and Application Insights—to ensure robust data management, configuration, secret handling, and monitoring.
• Enforce API security and safeguard Protected Health Information (PHI) by implementing JWT/OAuth and industry best security practices.
• Develop and maintain automated testing suites using pytest and support CI/CD pipeline integrations along with containerized deployment processes.
• Monitor machine learning platform performance using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, and Fluentd to maintain system reliability and address issues swiftly.
• Automate infrastructure setup and deployments via DevOps utilities such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and Ansible.
• Engage in code reviews, architectural planning, production support, incident management, and compliance with development processes.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders, provide project updates, and assist in technical feasibility assessments to manage risks and alternatives.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum seven years of professional experience in software development, with strong proficiency in Python and asynchronous web frameworks, preferably FastAPI.
• Advanced hands-on knowledge of MLOps tools, including MLflow, Kubeflow Pipelines, TFX, and Metaflow.
• Experience with Google ADK 2.0 for multi-agent orchestration and managing structured outputs from large language models.
• Familiarity with LLM orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, and PydanticAI for comprehensive toolchain handling.
• Expertise in generative AI concepts including prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, output validation, and AI safety mechanisms.
• Proven abilities in integrating AI platforms like OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and Google ADK 2.0.
• Practical experience using Azure services (Cosmos DB, Key Vault, App Configuration) combined with containerized deployment and CI/CD tools like Docker and GitHub Actions.
• Proficiency in DevOps techniques with tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Ansible, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, CircleCI, and GitHub Actions.
• Strong command of monitoring and logging technologies including Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, and Fluentd.
• Experience managing version control systems such as Git, GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket.
• Sound knowledge of cloud infrastructure, deployment strategies, event-driven architectures, and workflow engines.
• Expertise in API security best practices, including JWT/OAuth authorization and strict PHI protection protocols.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or closely related disciplines, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership in a dynamic, fast-moving team environment.

Salary Range: ₹1,800,000 - ₹2,500,000 per annum
