Role Overview

We are expanding our Clinical Genomics department and seek a Genetic Technologist Analyst to join this vital team. Located within the Centre for Molecular Pathology in Sutton, part of the North Thames Genomic Laboratory Hub (one of seven national hubs), the department is a leading European molecular diagnostics facility specializing in cancer. It provides molecular diagnostics and cytogenetics services for both solid tumors and blood cancers, actively supports clinical trials, and collaborates with industry partners to integrate state-of-the-art genomic technologies that enable personalized cancer treatments.

Main Responsibilities

• Perform detailed molecular diagnostics analyses and support scientific teams to maintain a high-quality service for patient care.
• Engage in both analytical and administrative tasks essential for efficient laboratory operations.
• Plan and execute complex diagnostic activities collaboratively with team members to ensure reliable service delivery.
• Contribute to staff training initiatives, including onboarding new personnel and hosting visitors.
• Assist with IT development and data management related to the molecular diagnostics workflow.
• Support quality assurance processes, ensuring compliance with laboratory accreditation standards.
• Maintain equipment and participate in the department's ongoing training programs.
