Global Banking - Private Funds Group Associate

Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive problem solver with a strong client service orientation to join our investment banking team specializing in capital advisory services for general partners investing in private equity, venture capital, real estate, credit, and infrastructure across the Asia Pacific region.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct due diligence on potential general partners, evaluating their team, platform, investment strategy, processes, and track records.
• Prepare internal memos and present analyses to the global committee based on findings.
• Assist in preparing private placement memorandums, building financial models, and creating marketing presentations.
• Manage negotiation of engagement terms with prospective general partners, coordinate discussions, and oversee client onboarding.
• Support internal initiatives such as compiling country and sector reports, managing business origination pipelines, and tracking private equity market intelligence.
• Represent the Private Funds Group in cultivating and maintaining relationships with general partners, limited partners, and industry participants to enhance UBS's marketing efforts.

About the Team

As part of the Private Funds Group within the Alternative Capital Group at Global Banking, you will provide advisory services globally to private fund sponsors and their investors, gaining deep sector and client knowledge and assisting with various market and strategic advisory matters, including capital raises and secondary market solutions.

Candidate Profile

• One to two years of relevant experience preferred; private equity exposure advantageous but not essential.
• Recent graduates who have completed their academic requirements are encouraged to apply.
• A bachelor's degree or equivalent in finance, economics, law, business administration, accounting, or related fields is ideal.
• Strong analytical and quantitative abilities with capability to quickly deliver accurate insights and communicate effectively.
• Experience with financial and valuation analysis, including financial modeling and corporate finance concepts.
• Proficiency using finance-related software such as Bloomberg, Capital IQ, Excel, PowerPoint, Preqin, ThomsonOne, and Word.
• Resilient team player able to collaborate effectively under pressure and with external stakeholders.
• Demonstration of UBS's core Pillars, Principles, and Behaviours with a willingness to travel.
• Curious about leveraging AI to enhance workflow efficiency while applying sound judgment aligned with policies and ethical standards.
