Role Overview
Grand Mercure Puka Park is looking for a Guest Experience Host to join the team in Pauanui, Waikato. This is a full-time, on-site position for someone who enjoys engaging with people and providing high-quality customer service.
Key Duties
- Arrange sales appointments for resort-based sales centres and livestream channels.
- Build connection and trust with customers so they receive a memorable experience.
- Support the tour-generation process and confirm that prospects meet the company’s tour eligibility criteria.
- Work alongside resort operations to deliver smooth service and an efficient check-in experience for owners and guests.
- Explain the value of travelling within the Wyndham Destinations community in a clear and persuasive way.
- Work toward business targets and key performance indicators.
- Be available for weekend and public holiday shifts.
Candidate Profile
The employer is seeking someone with a strong service mindset, excellent communication skills, and a positive, energetic attitude. Hotel or hospitality experience is helpful but not mandatory. The role does not require prior experience or formal qualifications, although an NZQF Level 1 qualification would be an advantage. Strong English communication skills, good computer literacy, immaculate grooming, and the ability to spot and resolve workplace issues are important. Experience using a property management system such as Opera is an advantage.
Work Schedule and Conditions
This role requires flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, public holidays, and school holidays.
Pay and Benefits
The position offers a minimum guaranteed working time of 30 hours per week. Pay is set at NZ$27.51 per hour, with additional performance-based incentives.
