Role overview

HL Bank Singapore is hiring an Information Technology intern to support work across IT security, governance, and operational improvement. The placement centers on building better tracking, stronger documentation, and more efficient processes that can be sustained after the internship ends.

What you will work on

• Create and improve digital tools used for IT security, including automated monitoring methods and supporting records for assets such as SSL certificates and software licences.
• Support IT projects from a security and operations perspective, especially initiatives related to automation or artificial intelligence.
• Study good practices in IT security and governance and turn them into clear standard operating procedures.
• Help redesign the bank’s internal access portal so that content from multiple departments can be brought together and future maintenance is easier.
• Strengthen vulnerability assessment activities by recording findings, tracking remediation, and coordinating follow-ups with the relevant stakeholders.
• Build a proof of concept for vulnerability management and security operations.
• Prepare documentation and handover materials so the work can be continued by the next person.

Responsibilities

• Set up a process to monitor IT assets such as SSL certificates and licences so renewals are completed on time and business disruption is avoided.
• Assist with automation- or AI-related technology initiatives.
• Research and document IT security and governance best practices and procedures.
• Contribute to the redesign of the bank’s access portal, including links to applications, newsletters, events, policies, and forms.
• Improve vulnerability assessment documentation, tracking, and operational follow-up.
• Work with relevant points of contact in branches or head office to understand existing processes and make them better.
• Identify opportunities to streamline IT security and governance workflows.
• Coordinate with key personnel from different departments and share improvement ideas with the reporting manager.
• Act as a champion for the work delivered by making it practical, reusable, and easy to maintain.
• Handle other duties assigned by management.

Requirements

• Education at ITE, diploma, or bachelor’s degree level.
• Comfort with technical work such as understanding code and syntax and carrying out setup or configuration tasks.
• Strong spoken and written communication skills.
• Good documentation ability, including structured writing, workflow mapping, and diagram creation.
• Cybersecurity knowledge will be an advantage.
• Available to begin in June or July and commit full time for 6 months.
• VBA knowledge, especially for Google App Script use, is a plus.

Additional information

This role is based in Singapore and is a full-time onsite position.
