About the Role
Join Marina Bay Sands as an intern within the Infrastructure team, where you will gain practical exposure to managing large-scale compute platforms and operating systems. This role focuses on supporting and optimizing enterprise-grade environments including Microsoft Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the monitoring and upkeep of compute infrastructure across both on-premises and cloud settings.
- Support the deployment, configuration, and patching processes for Windows Server and Red Hat Linux systems.
- Engage in incident management and root cause investigations related to infrastructure problems.
- Create and maintain documentation such as standard operating procedures and knowledge base content.
- Collaborate with various teams to facilitate infrastructure projects and upgrades.
- Manage virtual machines and cloud assets within hybrid infrastructure setups.
- Conduct fundamental analysis on performance and capacity for VMware, storage solutions, and system logs.
- Apply knowledge of system monitoring tools like Dynatrace, Nagios, or equivalents.
- Understand foundational concepts in Active Directory services, Certificate Authorities, and networking.
- Utilize familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services.
- Experience or exposure to IT Service Management tools like ServiceNow is advantageous.
- Understand infrastructure automation solutions including Ansible and Terraform.
Candidate Requirements
- Must be a current full-time student officially enrolled in an academic program.
- Internship experience should be relevant towards fulfilling graduation criteria.
- Minimum internship commitment of three months is necessary.
- Prior work experience is not mandatory; training will be provided.
- Must demonstrate a positive mindset and eagerness to learn and develop new skills.
- Proven capability to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges in a dynamic environment.
- Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented approach to work.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective documentation.
- Analytical skills are a plus, though not required.
