Job Overview

The City of Pearland seeks a committed full-time IT Support Specialist to join its Information Technology department. This role offers a competitive hourly wage along with comprehensive employee benefits and opportunities for career growth in a high-tech, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to incoming technical support calls and IT emergency line inquiries.
• Lead and execute IT projects across various city departments.
• Install and update software for users and vendors; manage maintenance and administration of IT systems.
• Collect data and insights to improve IT project outcomes and enhance user productivity.
• Develop and present IT-related recommendations that may influence decisions or purchases.
• Advise departments on leveraging technology effectively to complete their tasks.
• Ensure compliance with IT policies and procedures.
• Deliver technical assistance to all users and systems within the City of Pearland.

Qualifications & Experience

• Associate's Degree or equivalent specialized training in Information Technology or a related discipline is required.
• Two years of experience in IT support or a similar role is necessary.
• One year of audio-visual experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Certifications and Licenses

• Valid Texas Driver's License
• CompTIA A+ certification
• CompTIA Network+ certification
• CompTIA Security+ certification

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers an hourly wage ranging from $22.92 to $24.81 based on qualifications. The City covers 100% of dental, long-term disability, and life insurance premiums, and most of the medical premium costs for employees and their dependents.
