Junior Designer

About the role

Join Single Estate, one of Australia's leading design-focused medicinal cannabis companies, as a Junior Designer. This role offers a fantastic chance to develop your career in packaging design and branding within a dynamic, collaborative work environment located in Eveleigh, New South Wales. You will primarily work onsite with the flexibility of one remote workday per week.

Responsibilities

• Create high-caliber packaging designs for medicinal cannabis products across multiple brands.
• Assist the Design Lead in crafting new brand identities and producing various branded materials such as patient information, product and regulatory documents, brochures, social media content, and presentation decks.
• Develop creative visuals for affiliated clinics, including print, social media, and email marketing assets.
• Collaborate with the Design Lead to handle several projects and stakeholders, balancing innovative design with task efficiency.
• Gain expertise in the entire print production process, from design briefing to delivery, including supplier communication, cost estimations, artwork preparation, pre-press checks, and proofing.
• Communicate progress effectively, proactively raise issues, and incorporate feedback constructively.
• Embrace a lighthearted, team-oriented atmosphere with a sense of humor.

Candidate Requirements

• Between 1 to 3 years of graphic design experience, either within an internal team or at a creative agency.
• Formal education in graphic design or related fields, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and familiar with Figma.
• Strong eye for detail and a passion for packaging design.
• Collaborative attitude, comfortable with receiving and acting on feedback swiftly.
• Effective time management skills to juggle multiple responsibilities.
• Excellent visual communication abilities and forward-thinking design approach.
• Self-motivated with the capability to independently resolve challenges alongside receiving ample support.
• A love for dogs, adding to the pleasant office environment.

Desirable Additional Skills

• Understanding of print production, including artwork setup, dielines, paper stocks, finishes, and supplier coordination.
• Experience designing marketing materials and email campaigns using tools like Canva, Figma, Shopify, or Mailchimp.
• Interest in or existing knowledge of Australia's medicinal cannabis sector.

• Work arrangement includes hybrid flexibility with one remote day per week.

• Salary ranges from $60,000 to $70,000 plus superannuation, commensurate with experience.
