About the Role
Join MetLife's Global Technology team to contribute to the development and maintenance of digital solutions that enhance customer experiences worldwide. This role focuses on leveraging cloud, automation, and AI technologies to simplify complex processes, improve system resiliency, and deliver high-quality, seamless applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain software components, APIs, and automation tools.
- Support deployment and operational monitoring of cloud/platform services, resolving issues efficiently.
- Utilize AI-powered development tools to boost engineering productivity and software quality.
- Integrate diverse internal and external services, including AI-based APIs where applicable.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams within an Agile development environment.
- Adhere to engineering standards, security protocols, and responsible AI practices.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience from internships or academic projects in software development or AI/ML.
- Ability to quickly learn and apply new skills to produce high-quality software.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, Python, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, or COBOL.
- Fundamental knowledge of software design principles and coding best practices.
- Understanding of database concepts and development.
- Familiarity with cloud-native platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Basic awareness of secure coding techniques and automated testing.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving capabilities.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies, DevSecOps, and continuous integration/deployment pipelines.
- Experience with tools such as GitHub Copilot, Azure DevOps, Docker, or Kubernetes.
- Exposure to AI/ML tools and frameworks including prompt engineering, LLM APIs (Azure OpenAI), LangChain, Hugging Face, TensorFlow, Semantic Kernel.
- Experience in responsive UI/UX development, microservices vs monolithic architecture, containerization, and various database types including relational and NoSQL.
Additional Information
This position requires a hybrid work schedule with a minimum of three days per week onsite at the Whippany, NJ location.
Compensation is approximately $76,000 annually, with eligibility for short-term incentives and stock-based long-term rewards subject to plan terms.
