Lead Azure DevOps Engineer - Chennai & Pune

About the Role

We are looking for a Lead Cloud & DevOps Engineer with extensive experience to spearhead the design, deployment, and governance of large-scale Azure platforms. This position demands comprehensive technical skills combined with leadership abilities, focusing on architecture, automation, platform reliability, and enhancing DevOps capabilities. The successful candidate will guide engineering teams, enforce best practices, and influence key technology decisions including AI integrations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise-level scalable, resilient, and cost-efficient Azure cloud architectures.
• Architect and standardize CI/CD pipelines and DevOps frameworks using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions across multiple teams.
• Lead platform engineering efforts by developing reusable infrastructure components and deployment modules (IaC).
• Implement and uphold Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles such as SLIs/SLOs, observability, incident management, and capacity planning.
• Manage and optimize Azure services including AKS, App Services, Networking, Identity, and Storage at scale.
• Lead automation initiatives leveraging PowerShell, Python, and Terraform/Bicep for full lifecycle infrastructure management.
• Define and enforce security, governance, and compliance standards including Zero Trust models, RBAC, Policy enforcement, and Defender for Cloud.
• Mentor engineering teams to promote technical excellence, high-quality code, and adherence to industry best practices.
• Collaborate closely with architects, product owners, and business stakeholders to align technical solutions with organizational goals.
• Champion innovation by incorporating Generative AI and Azure AI services into engineering processes.
• Develop and maintain documentation standards, facilitate knowledge sharing, and enhance platform transparency.
• Serve as a technical escalation point for critical incidents and complex problem-solving.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum 12 years overall experience with at least 8 years dedicated to cloud technologies.
• Extensive experience in Cloud, DevOps, and SRE roles, emphasizing Azure expertise.
• Profound understanding of Azure services such as AKS, Virtual Networks, Load Balancers, App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Active Directory, and Storage solutions.
• Advanced knowledge in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform with reusable module design proficiency.
• Expertise in architecting and implementing CI/CD pipelines and enterprise DevOps processes.
• Hands-on experience managing Kubernetes platforms (AKS) at scale and container orchestration.
• Strong grasp of cloud security principles, governance, and compliance frameworks.
• Proficient in monitoring and observability tools like Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Skilled in scripting languages including PowerShell, Python, and command-line automation.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication capabilities.
• Experience or exposure to AI/ML technologies, particularly Generative AI, is highly advantageous.

Preferred Credentials

• Relevant certifications such as AZ-305, AZ-400, AZ-104 are strongly preferred or mandatory.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps, GitOps, and platform engineering methodologies.
• Experience working with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud infrastructures.

Additional Information

• Work Schedule: Rotational shifts from 6 AM to 3 PM IST and 3 PM to 12 AM IST.
• Job Locations: Chennai and Pune, India.
