Machine Operator - Darra

Role overview

This is a permanent full-time machine operator position based in Darra, Queensland, supporting day-shift production in a roof tile manufacturing facility. The role reports to the Operations Manager and involves running factory equipment, carrying out checks, and helping maintain a safe, orderly, and efficient work area.

Working pattern

• Day shift schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 4:30pm.
• There is some Saturday work when needed.
• The standard shift includes 1.5 hours of overtime when the plant runs past the usual 8-hour day.
• Occasional Saturday shifts of 6 to 8 hours may be required and are paid as overtime.

Key duties

• Run several machines and troubleshoot basic faults as they arise.
• Carry out quality checks and record results on quality documentation.
• Check oil levels and restart or reset tile production machines.
• Top up sand bins when required, using the appropriate certifications.
• Support other team tasks when extra help is needed.
• Keep recycle conveyors clean and maintain overall housekeeping standards.
• Follow 5S practices and complete asset care in line with CSR PM Way requirements.

What you need

Applicants should have progressive experience in a production or technical process role, ideally in a similar environment such as warehousing or large-scale manufacturing. A strong safety mindset is essential, along with a willingness to learn new skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
