About the Role
The Maintenance Planner position, located in Selma, AL, is a full-time onsite role crucial for upholding efficient and safe plant operations. The successful candidate will plan, prioritize, and coordinate maintenance tasks to support reliable production. This involves preventive and predictive maintenance scheduling, managing the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), and ensuring availability of tools, materials, and resources.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Evaluate maintenance requests and define detailed scopes of work.
- Create comprehensive job plans specifying labor, materials, tools, and expected durations.
- Assign priorities to work orders considering safety implications, urgency, and production impact.
- Synchronize maintenance schedules with operations to optimize planned downtimes.
- Verify availability of necessary parts, tools, and equipment prior to executing jobs.
- Generate, maintain, and update work orders within the CMMS system.
- Monitor supplier deliveries, documentation, and track inventory movements.
- Maintain accurate records related to maintenance activities.
- Analyze daily maintenance KPIs such as downtime and equipment availability to inform improvement plans.
- Create MVP system work orders based on maintenance needs identified.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and uphold 5S workplace organization standards.
Skills and Competencies
- Experience using maintenance planning and scheduling software.
- Proficient in CMMS administration, preferably with MVP work order systems.
- Understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance KPIs.
- Strong knowledge of industrial safety standards.
- Capability to analyze technical data and make data-driven decisions.
- Technical expertise with mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and coordination abilities.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in a relevant technical field is preferred.
- Previous experience in industrial maintenance operations.
- Experience with maintenance planning, scheduling, and inventory management.
Preferred Experience
Background in foam or polyurethane manufacturing environments is a valued asset.
Work Details
- Standard shift hours: 7:30 AM to 4:30/5:00 PM.
- Occasional weekend overtime may be required.
Compensation and Work Environment
- Base annual salary ranges from $65,000 to $75,000.
- Eligible for overtime pay.
- Position is fully onsite.
- No visa transfers or sponsorships; applicants with OPT/CPT/F1 visas are not eligible.
