Role summary
This position is for an experienced MERN Stack Developer in Toronto, Ontario. The role focuses on building, improving, and supporting scalable web applications with MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js.
Work arrangement
The setup is hybrid, with in-office work required from Tuesday to Thursday. Working hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM EST.
What you will do
- Create and maintain end-to-end web applications using the MERN technology stack.
- Build polished, responsive, and intuitive user interfaces with React.js.
- Develop secure and scalable backend services using Node.js and Express.js.
- Plan, structure, and administer MongoDB databases for application use.
- Develop REST APIs and connect external services where needed.
- Work closely with product managers, designers, and engineering teammates to deliver strong solutions.
- Produce code that is clean, reusable, and easy to maintain.
- Review code and contribute to unit testing efforts.
- Investigate defects, resolve issues, and improve application speed and stability.
- Help maintain security, scalability, and reliability across the application.
- Take part in Agile/Scrum delivery processes.
Skills and experience expected
The role calls for 6–8 years of experience and strong hands-on capability with MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js. You should also be comfortable with REST API design, responsive web development, full-stack architecture, Agile/Scrum workflows, and tuning application performance, security, and scalability.
Additional technical exposure
ReactJS and Microsoft SQL Server 2019 are also listed as technical skills. Experience with modern development tools and cloud platforms is preferred.
Preferred profile
We are looking for someone with solid troubleshooting ability, a strong analytical mindset, and the ability to contribute effectively in a collaborative team environment.
